Joining what God is doing AT BRENTWOOD OAKS

They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer. Everyone was filled with awe at the many wonders and signs performed by the apostles. All the believers were together and had everything in common. They sold property and possessions to give to anyone who had need. Every day they continued to meet together in the temple courts. They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts, praising God and enjoying the favor of all the people. And the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved.
— Acts 2:42-47 (NIV)

Becoming part of the Brentwood Oaks family means that you are a part of the larger body of Christ which as we read in scripture takes place through baptism (immersion) in the name of Jesus. All of us are working together to further advance the kingdom of God in this world.

We all have made commitments to one another: In becoming part of the Brentwood Oaks family we have become members of a Christian community; we have willingly placed ourselves in the care and direction of congregational leaders called Shepherds; by laying aside a divisive spirit we work for unity among believers;  our commitment to God in Christ and to one another means that both publicly and privately we remain faithful to Jesus’s words; together we work to increase God’s love among all people.

We pledge our loving support and encouragement to all who become part of what God is doing among us.
