Our Faith
Christians believe that the only true and living God, Creator of the heavens and earth, revealed himself in the history of Israel and in his son, Jesus of Nazareth. Though Jesus died a criminal’s death on a cross, Christians believe that Jesus was confirmed by His resurrection from the dead to be the Servant and King foretold by Israel’s prophets. Christians believe that Jesus is now at the right hand of God the Father.
Christians believe that through Jesus’ life, death, and resurrection, the Father is reconciling the universe-His creation-to Himself. In the gift of His Son and His Spirit to believers through immersion, God reveals Himself as continually giving and blessing our lives from His own life. As Christians, we are called to reflect the nature and purposes of our Father as revealed in Jesus. We are called to live lives that praise God and walk in the way of Jesus, who served others rather than Himself.
Christians await a final judgment by Jesus the Christ, of things done in the body. But we also await a new heavens and a new earth in which we will be raised in new bodies to know God as we are known by Him, seeing Him face to face.
