Assemblies

We are visible as the church of Christ when we assemble. Together in one place, we are the body of Christ (all having been immersed into Christ), every Sunday gathered to honor the Lord. Sharing together the Spirit of God (koinonia), we are enabled, in prayer and song, to approach God the Father, at His throne, at His invisible presence with his angels, through the priesthood of Jesus. We order our gatherings that we may express our love of God and of each other. We love God through generosity. We love God in obedient hearing of His word in scripture, exhortation and song. We love God in the sacrifice of our lips in prayer and hymn. We love God in stirring one another up to love and good works.

Brentwood Oaks has determined to spend more time at table every first Sunday, more time in prayer every second Sunday, more encouragement to serve every third Sunday and more expressions of love for our children and youth in the assembly every fourth Sunday morning. In our Sunday evenings, we have planned every first Sunday to sing more together, every second Sunday to meet in each other’s homes, every third Sunday to listen to a missionary speak, on fourth Sundays to increase love at home and on fifth Sundays to have our young men lead us in assembly in adoration of God the Father in the name of Jesus.
