Hospitality
God’s people remember our Lord’s expression of God’s kingdom in his salvation of the sick (Lk 11:20). As priests we intercede for each other in prayer in the name of the son of David. We organize into hospitality ministries to ensure we provide for those needing help in church. Many members of Brentwood Oaks are involved in relief for those distressed in Guatemala through Health Talents and in Zambia.
We ask each woman in the congregation to serve on our Hospitality Committee one month each year. These women provide a wide range of useful services to the church: They set the tables for First Sunday Meals. They serve as hostesses for wedding and baby showers for first-time marriages and first babies. The committee provides meals for Brentwood Oaks members in special situations, visits hospitals, writes notes of encouragement, and assists in other valuable ways.
