Guidelines for Use of Brentwood Oaks Facilities
The Brentwood Oaks Church of Christ, through its staff, reserves the right to restrict the use of its private facilities without explanation.
DEPOSITS: If accepted, your reservation will be placed on the church calendar when a reservation deposit of $100.00 is received. Your reservation deposit is refundable only in the event you cancel at least 90 days in advance of your wedding day. An additional Security Deposit of $300.00 is required prior to your event and will be returned to you in full if, in our judgment, no repair is required. Failure to adhere to these guidelines may result in loss of all or part of your Security Deposit.
Wedding reservations will be confirmed 9 months in advance of the event.
Only appropriately certified Christian leaders will be invited to perform ceremonies of marriage in or on the premises of the Brentwood Oaks Church of Christ.
FACILITIES/FURNISHINGS: The following facilities are those available for weddings: Certain portions of the grounds, worship center, parlor, chapel, family life center. Items of furniture available to you are limited to furnishings located in the portion of the facility you have reserved. Additional items must be rented.
Facilities are not available until after 5:00 p.m. Monday – Friday.
ITEMS OF CHURCH DECOR: Banners, paintings, etc. may not be removed. The only exception to this is the large painting of the nature scene opposite the fireplace in the parlor.
DRESSING AREAS: Women are to use the church’s nursery area for dressing. Men are to use the dressing area to the right of the church’s baptistery. These areas provide individual dressing cubicles and have rest room facilities.
The use of alcohol and tobacco, in all forms, is not permitted on any premises nor in any facility of the Brentwood Oaks Church of Christ.
Do not use punch or Kool Aid drinks that are red/purple in color because of permanent stain damage if spilled. Food and drink are not permitted inside the worship center.
Rice/birdseed shall be neither distributed nor thrown inside of any facility.
Obtain written permission before using any equipment/space not included in your initial reservation request.
None of the equipment in the church office, including telephones, shall be used. There is a telephone in the foyer cloakroom should you need to make local calls. Only non-drip candles may be used and only removable tape to affix aisle decorations to pews. (no glue, tacks, nails). Carpet on stage must be protected.
DAMAGE: Please leave a signed, written description of any damages which may occur.
Air conditioning/heating will be available 2 hours in advance of the event. Do not adjust the thermostats; contact a church representative for adjustments.
You may be assigned a key to use for your event when all applicable charges and deposits have been paid. Do not make a copy of the key, and do not loan it to any other person. By signing this agreement and receiving the key, you agree to be present when people associated with your event are present. An alarm security system controls/monitors access to Brentwood Oaks Church of Christ facilities. Use of your key at any but predetermined times will result in an alarm being sent and we will pass along to you the ‘false alarm fine’ the city charges us.
The key must be returned to the church office between the hours of 9-13 a.m. or 1-5 p.m. on the first working day following your event.
All rental equipment (candelabra, musical instruments, etc) must be removed or stored in the church foyer closet before you leave the building. Items remaining (nor stored or removed) will be considered the property of the church. Please notify your deliverers (caterers, florists, musical instruments, etc.) to use the covered entrance on the west side of the building. Under no circumstances should vehicles be driven on sidewalks or lawns.
Brentwood Oaks Church of Christ’s insurance program does not cover personal or rental items being left in the building.
Lights for the auditorium and foyer are located just inside of the front doors, designated by red switches.
