Benevolence
The church is concerned for the chronically poor, here and especially abroad. While organized dependencies on relief are avoided, Brentwood Oaks seeks to provide genuine assistance to the poor. In each Sunday morning class, we collect funds to provide for those in acute economic distress. On occasions, just as Paul spent himself on a major collection for famine relief (Rom 15:25ff), we also devote a special Sunday collection to aid those distressed outside our city limits, whether near or far. Our desire is to help the poor and disadvantaged. Each Sunday in our Bible classes we collect an offering which is dedicated to helping those in the community who find themselves in dificult situations.
