What to expect
We welcome you to Brentwood Oaks. As a visitor, we'd like you to know a bit about us just to increase your comfort level.
When you arrive
Our main entrance is off N. Lamar (see location map). We own and operate Brentwood Christian School which is also located on our property, so there are quite a few buildings around. If you'll follow the signs you should have no trouble locating the worship complex. We have reserved a number of clearly marked parking spots for visitors near building A.
Bible classes on Sundays start at 9AM with classes for children and adults. Our nursery is ready to receive children from newborns to 30 months old. Our worship begins at 10:15 and ends promptly (usually!) at 11:30.
Our assemblies and worship
We're here to worship, to encourage one another, and to praise our God. We're not here to impress people. You'll see people of all sorts, young, old, and in between, dressed in jeans to suits, and all pretty much enjoying being together. You'll generally see few t-shirts or ties, not that we worry about either.
If you're familiar with Churches of Christ, we're fairly typical: We sing a cappella; we celebrate the Lord's supper every week. During our worship time we'll sing, pray, and listen to a sermon. One thing we do that's a bit different is we rotate emphasis each week, spending more time in prayer on the second Sunday of the month and offer a brief focus on a ministry of the church on the third Sunday. On the first Sunday of the month we focus more on the Lord's table, and extend that fellowship into a church-wide first-Sunday meal in the Family Life Center immediately after our assembly. You're invited. It will cost you nothing but your time. That meal concludes by 12:30.
Please join us.
We hope you'll find a church home here, a place to serve among God's people at Brentwood Oaks.
