The Point of Preaching
Stand-up comedy is a tough act to follow. No matter. That isn’t what preaching intends to do. While preachers should never bore those who listen, neither are they called merely to entertain.
Preaching at Brentwood Oaks aims to bring the unchanging word of the Father into direct intersection with those who listen to it and to do so in ways that make it easy to put into practice what is heard. The Apostle James spoke on this when he said, "Prove yourselves doers of the word, and not merely hearers who delude themselves." (1:22)
