For new members

Brentwood Oaks is a healthy church, in part because we honor a shared set of expectations. Because we know the value of mutual encouragement, we expect that members will be present for the church’s assemblies. We expect that we will be faithful to pray for one another. We expect that each member will share in the financial giving necessary to function as a church. In public, before the congregation, each member of Brentwood Oaks has stated our membership affirmation:

  • To become a member of this Christian congregation…
  • To submit yourself to the direction and care of the elders whom God has called to serve this church…
  • To shun divisiveness…
  • To live your life, both in public and in private, in faithfulness to Jesus Christ…
  • And to work alongside all of us in this congregation to build up the body of Christ

We also expect, as a community of believers, to have a rich life together, helping one another and our community. Given that, there are a few things which will be asked of you and some great opportunities to be involved. These include the ministries of the church, some rare assignments, some wonderful times of fellowship, and some great traditions.
